Petnation Port-a-Crate Review
Design & construction
The design of the pet home ensures your pet has a safe place to rest and sleep. The exterior of the cage is made up of a heavy-duty tight weave mesh fabric to last a long time. The mesh fabric has sections of mesh windows on each side. These are designed to allow airflow into the pet house hence creating a comfortable environment for the dog.
The frame of the pet home is made of steel which gives the house the stability. Also, the steel structure contributes to the strength of the cage ensuring it lasts in the right form for an extended period. More to the design, the pet home has two doors; one at the top and one on the side. These allow easy access for the dog.
The doors can be rolled up and secured using the fastening straps provided at the top. The pet home also has zippers that are designed for strength. The door latches also ensure the pet is safe and securely protected. These features make the pet home suitable for outdoor use such as hiking, camping, etc.
This dog crate comes in 5 different sizes to suit your dog. These are 20-inch, 24-inch, 28-inch, 32-inch, and 36-inch (check out our table above to find the crate that best fits your pet). When getting the crate for your dog, be sure to take the measurements for the perfect size. It is recommended that you measure the dog’s height from the heat to the base of the legs and from the nose to the tip of the tail.
Steel is known for its superior quality and durability. The crate utilizes steel bars for the frame which ensures it remains stable, durable and in the right form. It is built to ensure the pet is safe and free from accidents; thanks to the round corners. However, the crate is not suitable for aggressive chewers and dogs that love to dig and paw.
Overall, the crate is designed to last long for a chilled out dog. Also, since it is suitable for the outdoors, it works well when traveling around with the dog without worrying about the parts coming off or the quality deteriorating.
Is it machine washable?
The crate is designed with water-resistant material for easy maintenance. Regular cleaning involves removing the pet waste and then wiping down the fabric. You can use a stain and odor remover to clean any spills or stained lodged in the material.
For extensive cleaning, you can disassemble the crate to remove the fabric. The fabric can be washed in the machine with other material to clean it thoroughly. It is easy to dry the fabric by hanging to dry or wiping down to dry the moisture. This can be done more often if the crate is used more in the outdoors.
